About

Some things about me

Me and Lucy the dog sitting in front of a field of wildflowers with a wire and post fence behind us, and white clouds on a blue sky.
Lu’s not fond of selfies.

I’m a writer and website user experience designer based variously in Washington DC, Kerry, Dublin,  Philadelphia and now back in Kerry.

I’m a dual citizen of Ireland and the U.S.  and I live on the beautiful Dingle Peninsula in the west of Ireland with my dog Lucy — a whip-smart Jack Russell/Border Collie combo who keeps me on my toes.

I have two Master’s degrees: an MPA (Public Policy, 1988) from Columbia University and an MS (Interactive Media, 2011) from University College Cork.  My BA is from Bucknell University (political science and economics).

Yes, I am amused.

On the creative side, I enjoy photography and have a small stock portfolio (iStock, not Wall Street).  I write poetry and have been published in a few Irish journals (The Stinging Fly and WOW! Magazine (now subsumed under Words on the Street).  I also play guitar and fiddle, the former pretty well and the latter, meh.  I occasionally break into show tunes in the privacy of my own home.  It amuses the dog.
